We believe in providing comprehensive care for all your gut complications. Hence consultation is an integral part of our service. Doctors at My Gut Care have expertise in a broad range of areas of luminal gastroenterology and hepatology. Most common reasons for gastroenterology consultations include but not limited to
- Iron deficiency anemia (Investigation and management)
- Rectal bleeding
- Positive Fecal occult blood test
- Abdominal pain, altered bowel habit (chronic constipation and diarrhea)
- Management of inflammatory bowel disease, including biologic therapy and management of IBD in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Management of coeliac disease, food intolerance, eosinophilic oesophagitis and other nutritional issues.
- Bowel polyps (including polyposis syndrome and other hereditary gastrointestinal conditions)
- Barrett’s oesophagus,
- Family history of gastrointestinal malignancy (colonic, pancreatic, oesophageal and gastric)
- Management of abnormal liver function tests (viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease etc)

On the day of your appointment
Please bring following with you:
- Doctor/GP referral – if you haven’t already sent it to us via email or the online form
- Medicare Card
- Health Fund Card
- Pension Card
- Veterans Affairs Card (DVA)
- Bring any test results that are relevant to the consult (i.e. Blood test results, Stool test results, ultrasound report and film, x-ray report and film, CT report and film, MRI report and film)
Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time as we will need to gather your information prior to you seeing any of our specialists.
Fees
There will be a small gap for consultations which is lower than the recommended AMA rate. It will vary if you are a new or a review patient. Medicare will cover a large portion of the fees, provided there is a valid referral from a general practitioner or specialist. Department of Veterans Affairs patients are bulk billed.
Please note that full payment is required on the day of consultation.
